James Baxter from Dreamworks Animation demonstrates how to draw Po from Kung-Fu Panda. This movie is easily in my Top 5 favorite animated films of all-time. One of the most memorable sequences from this film is Po's dream which opens the movie and was animated traditionally in 2D. The most important thing to take from what James Baxter is talking about here is how characters are formed with simple shapes and how those shapes are connected with lines that flow together through the entire body. I work in 3D everyday so anytime I get see it done with just a pencil and paper, I'm blown away.
